Games this weekend

Saturday 9th August

1st XI are home to Welbeck. The 1st Team could only manage another winning draw against struggling Plumtree last weekend, we reached 255 in our 50 overs, (John Wakeling 53, Philip DeFreitas 41, Taimoor Khan 40, Jim Rhodes 30 no). Plumtree were struggling on 59 for 6 and it looked like it was going to be any easy 20 points, but Plumtree shut up shop and blocked out for a winning draw only loosing 1 more wicket (Jim 4 wickets), not very exciting for the spectators or players. :o(

2nd XI are away to Blidworth The 2nd team beat Ransome and Marles by 7 wickets on Saturday after restricting R&M’s to 141 we knocked them off in 27.4 overs… Martin Mitchell continued his form by hitting 51 off 56 balls.

3rd XI are at home (Burntstump) to Manton The 3rds won by 4 wickets against South Normanton, the opposition managed 139 for 5 in their allotted overs and it got quiet close with Pap just managing to knock them off with 3 balls remaining. Mention goes to Craig Bond who hit 71.

Sunday 10th August

Sunday Side are at Home to Kimberley Last weeks Sunday XI game was played at Burnstump and was captained by Richard Copson. Balderton played a pap side with a number of junior players in the side, due to the other fixture being played. It was played in the right spirit but unfortunately Pap were bowled out for 96 and Balderton knocked them off without loosing a wicket.

Twenty/20 competition - Sunday 3rd August
Papp are out of the Premier League Twenty/20 competition after loosing both their games on Sunday. It was a busy day at the club with games at 10am, 13:00 and 16:00.

Thanks should go to Ellis who manned the bar and Sarah Rhodes who spent the day in the kitchen with me, cooking bacon/sausage cobs and burgers and hotdogs. I think I have just managed to get rid of the smell from my skin! :op

Thanks must also go to Andrea Sharp who agreed late on Saturday night to do Teas at Burntstump for the Sunday side.

Help is always needed at the cricket club to do a shift behind the bar or do a cricket tea or help with the sale of food for fundraising, please help your cricket club to raise much needed funds by offering to help.
