2nd XI Match report Vs Blidworth 1st XI 17th May 2008

Papplewick & Linby 2ndXI 141-6 Blidworth MW 1stXI 142-7

Papp 2nd team lost a close match against blidworth welfare on saturday 17th may in a rain affected match reduced to 36 overs per side. put into bat by blidworth, papp 2nds scored 141 for 6 with only graeme roberts (59) and tim clarke (35) coming to terms with the damp conditions. blidworths reply had a flying start with opening bat dave willcock making a very quick 40 and their bangladeshi overseas kabir making 33. papp 2nds own new indian sensation rohan shah continued his good form with the ball taking the first 5 wickets to fall at a cost of 52 runs giving papp 2nds a glimmer of hope but despite 2 wickets in 2 balls from john (dibner) thrower late on, the locals couldnt close out the game and the winning boundary was struck off the 3rd ball of the last over.
