Papplewick & Linby III 154-2 East Drayton 152-9,
Another convincing win on a wet day at Burntstump Park, took the 3rds to the top of Bassetlaw Division 6.
After winning the toss, Papp’s opening attack of Dane Straw and Neil South soon reduced East Drayton to 31-4, who then recovered through their captain P Lambert 69no (12 fours and 1 six) assisted by J Duncan 19, J Lambert 10 and R Fowler 12. The wicket-takers were Dane Straw with 5-26, his first 5 wicket haul for the club, Neil South 3-37 and Andy Bowers 1-37.
In reply, Papplewick never looked troubled, and after losing veteran Kev Rostance early for 11, 15 year old Tom Bowers (58no, 7 fours) and 14 year old Adam Rostance (31, 6 fours) took the score to 62 before Rostance Jnr was bowled by Duncan. This brought in Simon Bacon who brought proceedings to a brisk end with 39 not out (7 fours), winning the game with 6 overs to spare.
